Call waiting is a feature on the Exodec system. If a calling party places a call to a called party which is otherwise engaged, and the called party has the call waiting feature enabled, the called party is able to suspend the current telephone call and switch to the new incoming call and can then negotiate with the new or the current caller an appropriate time to ring back.

  • *71 – activate call waiting

Deactivate

  • *70 – deactivate call waiting. If call waiting is deactivated and you are in a call and another phone attempts to call you, the second phone will be connected to your voicemail. If you do not have voicemail, they will be played a busy signal.

Uses

  • Call Waiting can be used to avoid having callers go straight to voicemail if the recipient is on another call.
  • Turning Call Waiting off is a useful way to direct callers directly to voicemail if on another call.
